WhatsApp launched money transfers in chats

The popular messenger WhatsApp announced the launch of electronic payments in chats. The new function can be used by both ordinary users and legal entities doing business using the messenger.

To make a transfer, it is en

ough to click on the paper clip icon and select a bank card.

Transfers work on the basis of Facebook Pay and in the future, the social network would like to make it possible to use one bank card within all Facebook applications (recall that Instagram is one of them). To make a payment, you must enter either a six-digit PIN or use the fingerprint scanner on your smartphone.

Transfers in the WhatsApp messenger are still available only for residents of Brazil. The developers promise that the new feature will appear in other countries as well.

For private users, translations are completely free. But from business accounts Facebook plans to charge a commission for receiving money, similar to the one they pay for processing transactions using bank cards.

Users can connect a Visa or Mastercard debit card to their account, in addition, the social network in Brazil cooperates with large local players – Banco do Brasil, Nubank, Sicredi and the Cielo payment system.
